Courtney Vassiliades, LISW, OSW-C,
Courtney has over a decade of experience helping people navigate some of life's most demanding situations. Her background in medical social work at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics trained her to work quickly and effectively with people in crisis — identifying unhelpful thought patterns, reframing overwhelming situations, and helping people focus on what is actually within their control.
In her work with adults, Courtney specializes in the stretch of life where everything seems to hit at once — kids, marriage, a career, and aging parents, all competing for your time and energy. She also works with people struggling to manage their emotional health in a world full of noise, unrealistic expectations, and the constant pressure of social media. Her approach is practical and goal-oriented. She meets clients where they are and helps them understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings and behaviors. She works with clients to provide concrete tools to manage anxiety, stress, depression, grief and life transitions. Sessions are focused on where you want to go and what it takes to get there. Courtney's style is straight forward and direct, with a genuine investment in helping people make real and lasting change.
